THERE was a good turnout for the Devon Under-18 trials at Ivybridge RFC on Sunday.

Club coaches were asked to nominate players they felt were up to the standard of representing their county.

Around 80 players were nominated and many of those were at Cross-in-Hand trying to impress Devon’s coaching team.

A training squad is likely to be named this week ahead of a development match against Chiefs Outreach on Sunday, October 28.

Devon will then play Cornwall in another development game on November 4 ahead of the start of their county fixtures on December 2 and December 16.
